UniMAC IFT Embarks on Appreciation Tour
The management of the Institute of Film and Television (IFT) of the University of Media, Arts, and Communication (UniMAC) has embarked on a thank-you tour to express gratitude to media organizations that supported the institute's third congregation ceremony.
The delegation, led by Professor Samuel Manasseh Yirenkyi, Rector of IFT, and Marian Mantey, the PRO at IFT, visited Mills Media and Samis Media, both located in Accra.
During the visit, Professor Yirenkyi extended his profound gratitude to Mills Media, sponsor of the award for the best-graduating Animation student, and Samis Media, sponsor of the awards for best-graduating Production manager student and the best graduating Multimedia Production student.
Professor Yirenkyi called on Mills Media to partner with IFT to establish an Animation studio facility, which would help nurture talents and provide hands-on experience for students.
Marian Mantey proposed a support system in terms of equipment and internship opportunities for Animation students. Jesse Sunkwa-Mills, CEO of Mills Media, expressed appreciation for the recognition and assured the IFT management of future collaborations.
Samira Yakubu, CEO of Samis Media, was also commended for her dedication and support for IFT during the graduation ceremony.
Marian Mantey discussed the possibility of creating a foundation to support best students. Samira Yakubu acknowledged the importance of practical experience in the creative industry and expressed her willingness to provide opportunities for good students who are humble and willing to learn. "In the creative industry, we grow by constant practice and experience. I am ready to give opportunities to good students who are humble and willing to learn", she said.
The thank-you tour is a testament to UniMAC IFT's commitment to building strong relationships with media organizations and industry stakeholders. The proposed partnerships and collaborations are expected to provide opportunities for students to gain practical experience, develop their skills, and become competitive in the industry.
The management of IFT will continue their appreciation tour to other organizations in the coming days.
