Broadcast Journalism
The Broadcast Journalism Department of the National Film and Television Institute is one of the four Departments currently operated by the Institute to attain its overall objective of becoming the best media arts training institution in the world. The Department was established in 2012 to run Certificate and Diploma programs. In 2016, however, following its growing relevance, a degree program was introduced with the first batch completed in 2020.
With a team of dedicated and seasoned lecturers, the overall objective of the Department is to train and produce qualified journalists who are also able to use the audio-visual media creation equipment and are capable of excelling in any reputable news media organization across the globe. In view of this, the department offers intensive practical training coupled with its highly resourced course content such as Mobile reporting, Newsroom practices, Journalistic studio practices, Media Ethics & Law, Television & Radio News Writing & Reporting, Online News Production, Media Management, etc. and seminar sessions for students.
The Department has state of the art facilities such as modern equipment and studios for all students’ productions.
