Multimedia Production
The Department of Multimedia Production was established as part of a Strategic Plan of NAFTI in 2012 to expand the mandate of the Institute to include emerging frontiers in the Media Arts industry and lead in the training of experts. The multimedia department provides a wide skill set across a range of design disciplines and high-level specialist knowledge that sets our students apart in the industry. Essential business skills are also built into the curriculum through masterclasses and workshops to ensure graduates are ready and well-groomed for the industry whether freelance or already existing offices.
Our department runs certificate and diploma programmes in Digital Arts and Design (with the animation unit) and Bachelor of Fine Arts in Multimedia Production. In a fast pacing world, convergence has become a driving force that everything has to evolve. As a department, our aim is to train individuals in four pivotal areas of Graphic Design, Web Design, Motion Design, and 3D Modelling to professionally fit into the ever-converging visual communication industry and help solve our visual communication challenges.
We have a multimedia laboratory for our studio practice for both students and faculty equipped with industry-standard software applications for all our areas of emphasis. Our students also have access to the Institute's television studios and editing suites.
Our prospective students have the benefit of a young and friendly faculty who mentor and nurture budding creatives in how to ideate and execute to solve our visual communication challenges. Our graduates become Creative Directors, Graphic Designers, Web Designers, Content Managers, Digital Illustrators, Motion Designers, and 3D and Visual Effects Specialists.
