ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

DEGREE

  1. West African Examinations Council (WAEC)
    • West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)
      Grade C6 or better in three (3) core subjects (English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies) and three (3) elective subjects.
    • Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE)
      Grade D or better in three (3) core subjects (English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies) and three (3) elective subjects.
    • General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level
      Passes in three (3) subjects (at least, one of the passes should be Grade D or better). Also, the applicant must have had credit passes (Grade 6) in five GCE Ordinary Level subjects including English, Mathematics, and a Science subject (for non-science students) and an Arts subject for Science students.
    • Advanced Business Certificate Examination (ABCE)
      Passes in three (3) subjects (at least, one of the passes should be Grade D or better). Also, the applicant must have had credit passes in five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science, or Social Studies in the General Business Certificate Examination (GBCE).
  2. Higher National Diploma (HND) Qualifications
    HND holders must have graduated with a good HND certificate (i.e. at least 2nd Class Lower Division).
  3. Diploma Holders
    Diploma holders with FGPA of 3.0 or better from an institution whose diploma programme has been accredited by the National Accreditation Board (NAB) or from a foreign institution that is recognized by NAB may be considered for admission.
  4. Mature Candidates
    Applicants who could not obtain secondary education earlier in their lives may be considered for admission provided they:
    • are 25 years or above by the application deadline for each academic year.
    • show proof of age with a birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of birth date which is at least 5 years old at the time of application.
    • submit an introductory letter from the employer or show any other proof of work experience.
    • pass the Mature Students Entrance Examination in English Language, Mathematics, and Aptitude Test.

DIPLOMA AND CERTIFICATE PROGRAMMES

  1. Certificate and Diploma Programmes in Film Artistic
    Film Artistic Programmes focus on the following four (4) key areas in Film & Television Production at both the Certificate and Diploma levels.
    Film Directing (Documentary & Fiction)
    Television Production
    Scriptwriting
    Production Design
  2. Certificate and Diploma Programmes in Film and Television Techniques
    Film and Television Techniques Programmes focus on the following three (3) key areas in Film & Television Production at both the Certificate and Diploma levels.
    Editing
    Cinematography
    Sound Production
  3. Certificate and Diploma Programmes in Digital Arts and Design
    Digital Arts and Design Programmes focus on the following two (2) key areas in Media Arts at both the Certificate and Diploma levels.
    Animation (2D and 3D)
    Multimedia
  4. Certificate and Diploma Programme in Broadcast Journalism
    This specialty focuses on three (3) key areas in TV, Radio & Online Reporting at both the Certificate and Diploma levels.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  1. CERTIFICATE PROGRAMME (12 WEEKS)
    A minimum of BECE
    SSSCE & WASSCE holdersDuration of the Programme12 weeks of teaching and practice on Fridays, Saturdays, and some Sundays.
  2. DIPLOMA PROGRAMME – Accredited by NABPTEX for professional Advancement (52 Weeks)SSSCE HOLDERS
    Five (5) passes (A-D) in three core subjects including English Language and Mathematics and two electives.WASSCE HOLDERS
    Five (5) passes (A1-D7) in three core subjects including English Language and Mathematics and two electives.

     

    Duration of the Programme

    FIRST PART OF THE DIPLOMA PROGRAMME (Part One – 12 weeks)
    Applicants will be admitted to the Certificate programme which is the first part of the Diploma programme and lectures are on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays

    SECOND PART OF THE DIPLOMA PROGRAMME (Part two - 40 weeks)
    Applicants with a Pass in the NAFTI Certificate programme will be admitted to part two of the Diploma programme.

    Lectures - Monday through to Friday (4 pm - 9 pm on each day)
